Winter wedding at Longhorn Barn. Chloe and Adam both live and work in Australia and when we met earlier this year in Warwickshire to discuss their wedding plans, the weather was beautiful, warm and sunny. Now, this was always going to be in stark contrast to the likely weather to be expected for a winter wedding in England!
Roll on to December and the day of the wedding – a quick peek out of the window revealed gloomy clouds and rain. Never mind, the forecast was for the rain to give way for a dry, and sunny afternoon. First though, was a clay pigeon shoot for the groom’s party at a nearby range. I’m glad to report all went well; everyone not only survived but had tremendous fun too.
There was just time for me to capture a few photos at back at the Castle Inn in Edgehill, which looks out over the historic site of the first battle of the English Civil War between King Charles I and Oliver Cromwell’s Army before heading over to meet the bride.
Meanwhile over at the bride’s home all was going smoothly with Chloe and her bridesmaids looking spectacular. Mum and dad were in the background helping out and keeping the nerves calm.
A few miles away at Butlers Marston, guests were gathering for the ceremony at the Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul and by now the rain had, as forecasted, given way to sunshine but with a blustery wind – all was good!
After a beautiful wedding ceremony with much joy and laughter, everyone congregated outside to congratulate the newly married Chloe and Adam. This being a rural location and with winter firmly set in, what better way to be transported off to the wedding breakfast than in the back of an old Land Rover driven by Chloe’s uncle – absolutely perfect!
To round off the day and as the sun was setting, all gathered at Longbourn Barn in Kineton for the wedding breakfast. This was a perfect setting in a glorious old barn with room for the celebrations to begin with dinner, humorous, yet touching speeches and dancing. I’ll certainly remember this for a long time to come – Chloe and Adam; the perfect couple, surrounded by the very best of family and friends.
